If we don't see ya under the mistletoe, then we'll rock ya in the new year!

LADYSTEIN would like to thank each and every one of you that came to LADYSTEIN'S CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR SHOW. We had a blast and we hope you did, too!

Please enjoy the following pictures of the show AND Alana's Christmas Window display in which we performed (in nude solotards, might I add).

Ladystein will be spending the Xmas holidays snuggled fast in our beds while visions of sugarplums dance in our heads since we are TIRED after our MONDO WEEKEND! Also, sugarplums are pretty rock 'n' roll.

We hope you have a rockin' Xmas and/or a crazy sexy cool Kwanzaa, Chanukah, Ramadan, Festivas, etc.

Thanks for helping to make this one super Christmas for Ladystein!

I think that when you've made it onto an outdoor chalkboard, you've seriously made it. Hurrah! Posted by Hello

Alana is caught mid-blink. Luckily, she's still rockin' solid. Posted by Hello

The Christmas Window! Photos really don't do this justice -- but let's just say that there was a lot of fog in there. And a lot of rocking. Posted by Hello

It turns out that nude bodysuits (aka Solotards) are incredibly flattering -- we're ready for the window! Posted by Hello

Hard Candy Christmas

Hey Y'all --

Since we last spoke, Ladystein has somewhat conquered its terrible, terrible tragedies. First off, Alana bought a brand new AC adapter for her keyboard, so the show WILL go on! And by "show," we mean "shows." This weekend will be the biggest ever for Ladystein, as they will be performing a total of FOUR TIMES! This means that you'll have that many opportunites to see Ladystein live.
In the evenings, Ladystein will perform in a Holiday window installment designed by Alana and her friend, Andrew. Performances are at:

208 W 37th street (between 7th & 8th) --- in the window!
Friday, December 17th @ 6pm
Saturday, December 18th @ 4pm
Sunday, December 19th @ 4pm

Ladystein will be performing Holiday songs ONLY in the window. However, if you've gotta get your fix of Ladystein originals AND holiday songs, LADYSTEIN'S CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR SHOW is just for you:

LADYSTEIN'S CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR SHOW
Saturday, December 18th @8pm
Apocalypse Lounge
189 East 3rd Street (between A&B)
NO COVER!!!

Also, there will be a Holiday HO HO HO-Down afterparty at Kate & Kevin's house:

Saturday, December 18th @10pm
244 East 21st St #21 (between 2nd & 3rd)

This is a lot of Ladystein for one weekend, and we know that there are a lot of other Holiday events, but Ladystein is NOT to be missed!

Just to show how serious we are, we have included the following picture of David Hasselhoff. Like the Hoff, Ladystein means business!!

Ladystein would like to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas. Your present is the sound of our sweet, sweet music and this picture of David Hasselhoff. Posted by Hello

The face of tragedy. Posted by Hello

Rainy Days and Mondays...a story of tragedy and triumph:

I think that the sun is out now, so maybe the title of this post no longer applies. Either way, it was one hell of a weekend. Although one half of Ladystein was bitterly hung over on Saturday (we're not commenting on which member...) , it was a productive weekend nonetheless. Laurel Anne Jacobsen sat in on two Ladystein rehearsals, resulting in new lyrics for "Burden of Crap" including: "jaguars" and "babies." New Chrismas songs were learned for our upcoming gig and window installation, including "Step into Christmas" and perhaps the best rendition of "Hard Candy Christmas" EVER. Despite these triumphs, the weekend was not without tragedy. The AC Adaptor for Alana's keyboard was damaged in a terrible debacle that we need not go into. The upshot is that a new adapter is needed pronto, and no one seems to have one. A particularly damning trip to the Guitar Center on 14th Street almost resulted in a disco bloodbath after it was suggested that it would take three weeks to get a new adapter. Ladystein would like to take this opportunity to say that the Guitar Center is a terrible establishment which is only patronized by our band because of its proximity to our apartments. Generally speaking, the employees of said establishment are either too helpful (see: "strap shopping"), too incompetent (see: "keyboard case shopping") or too enthusiastic (see: "guitar pick-up shopping"). Basically, Kate purchased her new guitar, Loretta, at Sam Ash for a reason. In conclusion, if anyone has a Roland Keyboard AC Adaptor that they want to lend to us, we would be much obliged. Happy Monday one and all.

The flyer for our holiday concert! Be there or be square. Posted by Hello

Trouble on the line?

We didn't think it was possible, but Ladystein is having its very first cat fight. I think Alana would prefer we call it an "artistic difference." But I think we should call a spade a spade. What could provoke such a fight? A solotard. A what? Exactly. You see, Ladystein is preparing to perform in a window space installation prepared by Ms. McNair next weekend (December 17-19 -- mark your calendars)!!! We will be singing Christmas songs and holiday favorites. Alana thinks we should dress in nude solotards -- form fitting, beige, nylon bodysuits. I disagree. I won't get into the particulars because we could be here all night, but sufficed to say, I do not agree with this choice. So what does this mean? Only time will tell. In the mean time, to find out more about solotards, you can consult the Capezio website: http://www.capeziodance.com/page.jsp?s=29&p=328

The thing about Ladystein is that in addition to being well respected musicians, we're incredibly hot. I'm not even kidding. Look at our complextions. Some say, we're glowing. Posted by Hello

This picture is also from our first gig. We are both wearing "FREE MARTHA" t-shirts. We would like to state for the record, however, that they do NOT refer to Martha Plimpton. Not the Goonie. But she's cool, too. Posted by Hello

From our first gig. We both have incredibly dead eyes and incredibly fabulous hair. As it should be. Also, there is fake fire behind us. Posted by Hello

Grammy nominations, Steve Zissou and Morgan Freeman -- just another Tuesday.

So the Grammy nominations are out. And yet again, Ladystein was shut out of the "Best Polka Album of the Year" award. Well, we'll see you next year, Eddie Blazonczyk's Versatones. Mark our words. We would, however, like to congratulate Loretta Lynn on her myriad nominations. You are one classy lady.
In other news, it has come to our attention that the new Wes Anderson film, "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," will only be playing in one New York theater (Lincoln Plaza) this Friday. We would like to say that this is both shameful and feeble. That is all.
Also, apparently, Morgan Freeman has been banned from flying. We do hope, however, that he is not banned from driving Miss Daisy, because we need a ride to our next gig.

LADYSTEIN online! AT LAST!!!

So many of you may hate blogs and many of you like them. That is why Ladystein is for all people -- whether you like blogs or not, we have one! But "why?" you might ask. Well I'll tell you. Living the fast-paced, trend-setting life of glamazons, one doesn't get to address one's fans as much as one would like to. This way, we can just send out generic, impersonal messages that just about anyone can view! But more to the point, you can catch a glimpse behind the velvet curtain (or rope, if you like) at one of the brightest stars in the female-indie-rock-galaxy. That's right, kids -- LADYSTEIN is online. And we're here to stay!

This is the poster for our first gig. Both the poster and the gig (like us) rocked. Posted by Hello
