Rainy Days and Mondays...a story of tragedy and triumph:
I think that the sun is out now, so maybe the title of this post no longer applies. Either way, it was one hell of a weekend. Although one half of Ladystein was bitterly hung over on Saturday (we're not commenting on which member...) , it was a productive weekend nonetheless. Laurel Anne Jacobsen sat in on two Ladystein rehearsals, resulting in new lyrics for "Burden of Crap" including: "jaguars" and "babies." New Chrismas songs were learned for our upcoming gig and window installation, including "Step into Christmas" and perhaps the best rendition of "Hard Candy Christmas" EVER. Despite these triumphs, the weekend was not without tragedy. The AC Adaptor for Alana's keyboard was damaged in a terrible debacle that we need not go into. The upshot is that a new adapter is needed pronto, and no one seems to have one. A particularly damning trip to the Guitar Center on 14th Street almost resulted in a disco bloodbath after it was suggested that it would take three weeks to get a new adapter. Ladystein would like to take this opportunity to say that the Guitar Center is a terrible establishment which is only patronized by our band because of its proximity to our apartments. Generally speaking, the employees of said establishment are either too helpful (see: "strap shopping"), too incompetent (see: "keyboard case shopping") or too enthusiastic (see: "guitar pick-up shopping"). Basically, Kate purchased her new guitar, Loretta, at Sam Ash for a reason. In conclusion, if anyone has a Roland Keyboard AC Adaptor that they want to lend to us, we would be much obliged. Happy Monday one and all.
