Lady K discovers hyperlinks; Internet implodes.

Lady K recently welcomed the 20th century into her life a good six years into the 21st century by deciding to use hyperlinks for everything so that readers of this ladyblog can go down the internet rabbit hole much in the manner of her favorite trashy blogs. When asked to comment on her newfound hobby, Lady K said, "I like links."

The Oscar Award Winning Star of "Straight Talk," Dolly Parton....dare we dream?

Hey y'all - we know that we just blogged about Dolly, but we're just pleased as punch that she received an Oscar nomination this morning for her original song, "Travelin' Thru" from the film Transamerica. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you should, even if you have to contend with the crowd at the IFC Center because Felicity "Flicka" Huffman is amazing. In any case, we hope that Dolly gets to perform on the telecast, and of course we hope that she wins and isn't robbed again like she was back in '81 when she was nominated for "9 to 5" and "Fame" won. Anyway, congrats to Dolly (and Brokeback Mt for its eight nominations). Holla!

Congrats, Dolly! Posted by Picasa

HAPPY DOLLY DAY!

Today is Dolly Parton's 60th birthday! As you may well know, Dolly is Ladystein's lord and savior and there has never once been a Ladystein show that didn't include a Dolly song. Though we'd love to be celebrating at Dollywood, we're doing the second best thing:GETTING OUR ALBUM REVIEWED ON THE INTERNET! That's right kids: Albumstein has been reviewed, and we're very happy to inform you that on a scale from Shania Twain to Dolly Parton, Ladystein scored the highest possible: DOLLY!

Check it out! http://wereallgladhere.com/lstein.html

Gay People Accepted by Small Amount of Foreign Journalists!

That's right: homosexuals were totally beloved by the nearly 150 some odd members of the Hollywood Foreign press this year at the Golden Globes. Hopefully this will mean that people who actually live in this country might like gay people sometime, too - and not just when they're in good movies! The top winners at the Golden Globes were all from films with alternative lifestyle themes or characters "Brokeback Mountain" won for best dramatic picture, screenplay, and director Ang Lee, Phillip Seymour Hoffman for "Capote," and Felicity Huffman for "Transamerica"! Congrats to them all!

As for red carpet fashion, the clear golden girl as always was Queen Latifah, who can teach us all that there's nothing wrong with wearing supportive undergarments (and a few starlets can take that lesson to heart...we're looking at you, Drew Barrymore...)In conclusion, bra-burning is fine, but when it comes down to it, if you have to go to a formal function, bras can make you look hot!

LADYSTEIN SAVES XMAS: A Rhapsody in Photos

Here are some shoutactular photos / video stills taken by resident Ladystein archivist, Kevin Shug Manganaro. They are from Ladystein's most recent triumph, HOW LADYSTEIN SAVED CHRISTMAS written and directed by Maria "The Hammer" Cataldo with special guest appearance by Sergio Lobito in the dual roles of Baby Jesus / The Christmas Pirate. Clearly, this is one for the record books, kids: it was the most perfect show ever made by people! If you were there, you know that and can take a trip down memory lane right now, if you weren't there, take a look at these pictures - they're almost as good as being there, but, you know, without the awesome rocking part. Enjoy!

PIGENSTEIN

Hello, fans. Lady A here. Before I went to Georgia for the holidays, I recieved a curious phone call from my 9 year old nephew, West. He called to tell me that he just got two pigs. He was so excited about it that I couldn't help but join in the adolescent glee. "That is so exciting!" I said to him. "Guess what I named them?" he said. I, of course, had no idea. "You will never guess." Well then tell me, young man. He kept going--"You are going to scream when I tell you." "What?" I was glistening with anticipation. He said, (so sure of himself) "Kate and Maria!"

I screamed.

So all of this is to share with you, blog readers, the fact that my nephew named his two pigs after the other half of LADYSTEIN and my lady love. What gets better than that? So when I was home for Christmas, he took me out to the pen to meet the pigs who share the names of my favorite ladies. I have posted some pictures of this very incident. You will notice their beautiful southern habitat. They are pretty peaceful there. If only Kate and Maria could have that peace in their own lives, just like their swinean counterparts.

I will leave you with one description from my nephew ...

"Well, Maria is a little smaller than Kate."

Ay, there's the rub. [Proceed with picture viewing . . . ]

BIRTHDAYENSTEIN!

Recently, Lady A had an elaborate birthday celebration at the Magician. If you made it, you know if was fabulous. If you didn't, well, that sucks for you. Fun was had by all. At the end of the evening, however, many were mysteriously covered in green icing... which we now blame on one anonymous character cake. Go figure. Here are some pics from the evening for your pleasure.
