Back to Life, Back to Reality....
Remember Soul II Soul? They sang that song. What a kickin' tune. Speaking of things that are kickin', Ladystein is alive and kickin' in the new year.
We hope that all of your holidays were most enjoyable, as ours were. The big news on the street is that both Ladystein ladies received 40gb iPods for Christmas, which are our new best friends. We hope that Santa was awfully good to you as well!
We are still recovering from the holidays and from seeing "Hotel Rwanda" this past Saturday. We highly recommend this excellent film, but be warned that it is IMPERATIVE that you bring tissues with you. You'll need them. It's pretty rough. Seriously. Also, Don Cheadle is the best ever.
Now it is Monday, January 3rd, 2005. We can't help but look back at 2004 and think of all the memories we've shared. It was in 2004 that Ladystein was first formed and first performed. Who knows what sort of madcap hijinks Ladystein will get into this year. What we can do is make a list of New Year's resolutions which we will almost certainly abide by for at least a few days:
1. Practice the guitar and keyboard every day.
2. Name a band mascot.
3. Look both ways before crossing the street.
4. Learn to play the ukelele.
5. Remember that there is no "I" in "Ladystein." Wait...there is. You know what I mean.
6. Make a demo.
7. Stop eating carbs.......psych!
8. Try to remember the lyrics to songs that we've written. And ones that we haven't.
9. Never visit The Guitar Center unchaperoned.
10. Elect a president of our fan club*
We think that's a good start. Have a very merry January 3rd!
* We are currently taking applications. If you would like to apply to be the president of Ladystein's fan club, please write a 300 word essay on what Ladystein means to you. Send applications to Ladystein@gmail.com
